The Darjeeling Welfare Society (DWS), under the leadership of Shri Harsh Vardhan Shringla, Founder-President of DWS and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), is organizing Rozgar Mela 2.0 in Siliguri on 15–16 November 2025.
This initiative builds on the success of Rozgar Mela 1.0, held in Darjeeling in November 2023, with the aim of extending its reach across North Bengal and parts of Northeast India. The Mela will cover a population base of over 2 crores with a literacy rate of above 75%, ensuring large-scale participation from the youth of the region.
The public notification of the event was made on 17th September 2025, coinciding with the 75th birthday of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, marking the occasion with a renewed commitment to youth empowerment. Advertisements in four regional languages, across print, visual, and social media platforms, have already been released to maximize outreach.
Rozgar Mela 2.0 aligns with the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister to provide skills training, career opportunities, and meaningful employment to India’s youth, thereby driving the goal of an Atmanirbhar Bharat. The Mela will also implement the PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY), a flagship scheme incentivizing employers to generate new employment opportunities.
By bringing together employers, trainers, and aspirants under one platform, Rozgar Mela 2.0 seeks to create pathways for training, empowerment, and sustainable livelihoods, making it a transformative step for the youth of the region.
Rozgar Mela 2025 is a large-scale employment and skill development initiative inspired by the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji. It aims to connect job seekers with leading employers, create meaningful employment opportunities, and empower youth to contribute to the vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
