A Historic Initiative by DWS: A Milestone in Diplomacy and Aspirations
In a remarkable display of knowledge, mentorship, and inspiration, the Darjeeling Welfare Society (DWS) hosted a historic event that brought together five distinguished former Ambassadors and UPSC candidates from Darjeeling at Southfield College. The event was graced by Shri Harsh V Shringla, President of DWS, and his esteemed batchmates from the Indian Foreign Service (IFS: 1984). These former Ambassadors, who have represented India in countries such as the USA, China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Germany, Thailand, Tanzania, and Cambodia, have made significant contributions to the field of diplomacy and served as pillars of India's global presence.
The interaction between the DWS UPSC candidates and these eminent diplomats was a unique opportunity for learning, offering invaluable insights and guidance to the aspiring young minds. Supported by the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA), this event not only marked a new chapter in the journey of UPSC aspirants but also underscored the importance of mentorship and the sharing of collective wisdom.
This historic initiative by DWS celebrates the pursuit of excellence, marking a proud moment for the Society and leaving an indelible mark on the future of Darjeeling's youth.
