The Darjeeling Welfare Society is also carrying out research in maternal and child nutrition in the region. Lack of access to good health care and medical facilities have been one of the biggest problems of residents in the Darjeeling region. Inadequate health facilities have directly impacted new mothers and children and many unfortunate cases of negligent maternal health care have surfaced in the last few years. The DWS aims to address this gap and contribute to maternal and child nutrition in the Darjeeling region.
