During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Harsh Vardhan Shringla played a pivotal role in facilitating the safe return of stranded individuals from Darjeeling and surrounding areas who were stuck in the Gulf countries. Through the Vande Bharat Mission, a historic operation that aimed to repatriate Indians from various parts of the world, he ensured the safe return of 250 passengers from UAE to Bagdogra. This marked a significant achievement for both the mission and the people of Darjeeling, as it was the first time an international flight directly landed in Bagdogra, bringing relief and reunion to those eagerly waiting for their homecoming.
