In 2014, the Darjeeling Welfare Society embarked on its philanthropic journey, led by Shri Harsh Vardhan Shringla and Ms. Nalinee, former Minister from the Government of Thailand, and an alumnus of Mount Hermon School in Darjeeling. Together, they undertook the establishment of a monastery in the remote tea estate of Gopaldhura Singtam Community, located in the picturesque region of Darjeeling. As a symbol of goodwill and spirituality, a magnificent Buddha statue was gifted to the community all the way from Thailand, bringing a sense of serenity and enlightenment to the region.
